Cardiovascular Biology
The heart is a vital organ that is unfortunately the center of many debilitating conditions. Heart disease, which is the umbrella term for many different kinds of heart conditions, is a leading cause of deaths worldwide. Our Laboratory studies treatments for genetic heart disease, heart failure, and atherosclerosis. We approach genetic heart disease via gene therapy, and heart failure and atherosclerosis via drug delivery.
