As part of the Heart, Lung, and Blood Summer Research Program, Melanie Nelson joined us this summer to work on an ongoing project on atherosclerosis regression. She is currently carrying out a Double Major in Neuroscience and Behavior/Psychology at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Recently, our postdoc Alice Chaplin was awarded a scholarship by the NIH to attend The Whole Scientist in Bar Harbor, Maine, organized by The Jackson Laboratory. PhD students and postdocs from across the country gathered at the Highseas Conference Center in order to expand their professional skills, including grant writing, people and project management, and interpersonal communications, among others.
